so what

Kyle and I are on spring break, but it's been rather chilly and gloomy. I'm dreaming of this summer, when I'll be done with school forever, with the sun shining and trumpets playing and continual celebration. Thinking of life after graduation, I'm so ready for taking on my own projects, working with others, and at least a bit of that much desired free time.

Today I'm feeling a bit of an inspiration/writer's block for a book I'm desperately trying to start and complete (about some rebellious girls). What do you do when you're stuck? I have my methods but they're not working today.

I hate feeling uninspired! I always listen to some good music and see if I get inspired by the sounds! Sounds silly, but seems to work for me.
Good luck, Ashley!

What do I do when I get stuck? This may seem a bit creepy and weird, but I'll tell you:

I imagine that a man is holding a gun up to my head, and if I don't write, then he'll shoot me. And so the Writers' Block solves itself. :D

Lovely polaroids and boo to gloomy weather. Sunshine is just around the corner! I don't do well with writer's block in general...it just depends what it's for. I just listen to music and take a break from "forcing it". Somehow it just comes back :)

it seems to me that whenever i have deadlines for my art i have inspiration blocks and lack of motivation and i just have to pretend that i'm making it for myself and who cares if anyone else likes it. that usually ends up helping me make the best work that a lot of people like!

beautiful pictures.
when i need inspiration i look at images that inspire me. so many of my stories have grown from pictures saved on my 'weheartit' page.

Go to the library and pick random books off the shelf from every section. Come up with a story based on the cover, not the title or any of the writing :)

When I'm feeling uninspired I go and have a look at a blog just like yours - which I've just rediscovered! Please keep up the beautiful work.

Beautiful photographs. I usually pursue art elsewhere and then return to my own work with a fresh perspective.

It's my last year of school too. I also can't wait for making things I wanted to make for last months. I've read this post and your 'about' and I think we have so many common features!
